Gluttony in Goa

So I’ve been away for a while now and I thought that today when I decided to blog after all these mad, crazy days it is only right that I should show you what I’ve been up to! For one, this year began on an awesome note – the husband and I celebrate our birthdays in January and we are only two days apart 🙂 Just date-wise that is. This year since it was a long weekend, we decided to head to Goa for a short but fun-filled holiday.

And what fun it was! From gorging on the freshest seafood to trying our hand at things like walking on the sea bed, yes we actually did that, and feasting our eyes on breathtakingly beautiful corals and even spotting a  couple of dolphins, this was truly one memorable trip.

Alright, I’m not going to go on and on. I’ll let the pictures take over now. Just one warning: These may lead you to drool excessively!

Beef chilli fry at Brittos

Squid in Rechad masala at Brittos. The squid was so fresh it just melted in our mouths!

What an idea Sirji: Goan sausages sauteed and rolled in papads and deep fried. At Cavala, Baga Beach

I had this close to midnight and it was easily one of the best crab dishes I’ve had – Crab Sukka at a little blink-and-you-will-miss-it shack close to Baga Beach

Fish Almons at Martin’s Corner

The dish that bowled me over: Prawn rechad at Martin’s Corner

King fish balchao and Prawn ambotik at Martin’s Corner

Dry prawns kismur, Goan sausage pulao and beer, but of course!

The raw material!

Just look at the size of that :O

Apple and strawberry pie made by this charming British lady, one of our indulgences at the Saturday night market

If it’s Goa then there’s got to be beer!

My mouth waters even now as I type this – Batter fried quid that tasted like popcorn with some French Fries

A meal of Prawn Xacuti with rice to end our Goan holiday

Strawberry and dark chocolate tart. This. was. just. DIVINE!

Reading this post sure bought back some memories, Martin's Corner is my favorite joint in Goa, with Britto's coming in a close second 🙂
