Marble cake with fudge icing

I’d to make something for a potluck lunch at work, even though the majority voted in favour of the chocolate fudge cake I sheepishly admitted that I was a bit bored of making this. So to keep everyone – the people at work and me – happy, I did this Marble cake and topped it off with a fudgey, almost gooey icing that sticks to your fingers!

For the cake
11/2 cups of maida
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
3 eggs
1 cup curd
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Sift the maida, soda, salt and cinnamon, keep this aside.
In a big bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, curd, oil and vanilla essence together. Now add the flour mixture to this and fold it well, don’t beat too much otherwise the cake won’t become fluffy. Pour the batter into a greased pan, keep half a cup of the batter aside. Mix 2 tbsp of cocoa powder into this and pour over the vanilla batter, now use a fork or a knife to create swirls for a marble-like effect and bake for 30 mins at 180 deg. or until it’s done to a golden brown.
For the icing
50gms of dark chocolate, chopped into pieces
1/2 cup of condensed milk
2 tbsp butter
3 tbsp thick, skim milk yogurt
Melt the chocolate and the butter with a splash of milk in the microwave. While this is still hot, add the condensed milk and mix thoroughly, when the mixture is cooling slowly add the curds to make a smooth, fine paste. Spread evenly over the cake.
