Okay, I’ll admit that was a really corny line! But I just couldn’t help it – maybe it’s the bad throat or just that I’m too excited to be blogging again… Anyway, Hummus is one of those dips/ spreads that’s super easy to make and even easier to polish off.. Here you go..
Channa – 2 cups, soaked overnight and boiled
Garlic – 6-7 cloves, chopped (you can use 4-5 cloves as well, but I like the taste of garlic)
Tahini – 1 tbsp – I used a tablespoon of roasted sesame seeds which I ground just before adding the chick peas
Grind the chick peas, garlic and tahini/sesame seeds to make a paste, add olive oil to smoothen it. Add the salt and lime juice to taste. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds or olives or both! Store in an airtight container for upto a week in the fridge. Yummy!
A couple of months later, this is my entry for the ‘Herbs and Flowers event – Garlic‘ which Vardhini is hosting. This is a wonderful concept that PJ has started and is just growing in popularity across the world wide web!
