Quick fix dessert

There are some of those days when you just know you will come home feeling hungry and craving for something sweet. And in my case, since I don’t have a sweet tooth.. these cravings can be particularly tricky to satisfy because a bite of chocolate or even kaju katli won’t do! So on one of those days, this is what I did… 

Caramelised raisin and raspberry custard

One packet of raspberry flavoured custard 
500 ml milk
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup rasins
1/4 cup jaggery
Make the custard according to the instructions on the pack and allow it to set.
Heat a non-stick pan on a low flame and melt the jaggery, stirring continuously to get a thick syrup. If you find it getting too thick or burning, then add a teaspoon or two of milk. Slowly add the raisins, mix it well and allow to simmer for a minute. Take it off the flame and when the caramel begins to harden, fold it into the semi-solid custard. Chill for an hour or two. Serve with sliced banana.
